"Water is the softest thing, yet it can penetrate mountains and earth. This shows clearly the principle of softness overcoming hardness." ~Lao Tzu
How are you showing up on your mat? In your practice? In your life? Are you soft like water, or hard like granite? Where we are too hard, we constrict the grace and ease right out of life. Where we are too soft, we become like a puddle on the floor, unable to move, to make decisions, to act.
In this workshop, we'll explore the qualities of water through asana and partner exercises. The reflections we see in ourselves and in others will provide powerful insights to our lives off the mat as well as to our emotional state of well-being. Come join us as we dive into the river of movement exploration.
Participants will leave with a greater sense of the following:
- when and where you are pushing too hard
- when and where you need to engage more
- how to begin to soften and what that feels like
- what it is like to be a reflection to others
- what it feels like to have another mirror you
- what it feels like to experience flow
- postures and movements designed to open up areas of the body where we tend to store emotions
No prior yoga or movement experience is required.
