Yin Yoga is classified as a more passive style of yoga. We will come into seated and supine poses and hold them for longer periods of time with the intent of transferring the stress into the deeper fascia. The goal is to stretch the connective tissue around the targeted joints (mostly knees, pelvis, sacrum and spine) to keep the joints stay hydrated and pliable. We will also explore how the poses influence the meridians in Traditional Chinese Medicine. This class is a great compliment to a more yang style of yoga. This class is recommended for newer yogis right up to the most advanced students.
